Cool Water EDT, Davidoff, Reformulation Guide
Vintage DecantsIdentify and explain:
Hello fragrance fam! Today we will be helping you identify vintage versions of Cool Water Edt for men.
Modern iterations of Cool Water definitely have a synthetic smell to them, due to the recalls on certain ingredients that were used in the original formulas.
I would compare the vintage version, to smelling something I would relate with as "fresh mountain air".
It's not too difficult to identify vintage Cool Water bottles if you follow these identifiers.
1. The Lancaster batches were the best, they were produced until 2004. You will see "Lancaster" on the batch sticker underneath the bottle.
2. All Lancaster bottles had "Davidoff Cool Water" written in full cursive on the front of the bottle.
3. Bottles made before 1992 had a stronger note of oakmoss in the formula, in those batches usually the liquid inside will have a slightly green hue to it. Those are the batches that smell similar to perfumer Pierre Bourdons other acclaimed masterpiece, Creeds Green Irish Tweed!
In my opinion, any batch produced before 2004, by Lancaster are the nest versions! Hope this helps and enjoy the Journey!
