Vintage eau Sauvage bottle

EAU Sauvage EDT, Dior, Reformulation Guide

Vintage Decants

Identify and explain:

Hello fragrance fam! For today's installment of "identifying the vintage" were covering Eau Sauvage EDT! A Hallmark in terms of men's classic perfumery. EAU Sauvage is a citrus forward woody chypre thats done in an Eau de cologne style format.
*In efforts to keep these reviews simple, I'm going to simplify that; generally if you want a good vintage batch of EAU Sauvage, look for the bottles that came in brown boxes (not white). Also, any bottle variations other than the popular flask design they still use, are easy to identify older vintage bottles as well.
After 2003 was when Sauvage faced the biggest reformulation with its natural use of oakmoss and woods synthesized when the "long ingredient lists" starting appearing on boxes. Newer versions have the citrus notes on full volume, and half the longevity of vintage versions.

I think the modern versions still smell good but I would consider it a more synthetic smell than the original formulations.

Hope this helps and enjoy the Journey!
