Finding your best batch made easy

Buying Guide:

In my opinion the most significant reformulations in perfumery happened in 2005, 2016, and 2023. For best results, you want to pursue a formulation before it had a major reformulation. Here's the easiest way to find a good formulation for your scent.

If your perfume was released before 2005- Search for boxes with a short ingredient list, usually five ingredients or less. (See pictures attached) Longer ingredient lists didn't start appearing on boxes until after 2005/06 for most brands.

*After 2006 it's easier to trace your batch code using a website like CheckFresh.

If your perfume was released between 2004-2016 check it's batch code. I would pursue batches made before 2016 for a stronger presence of fixatives used in the fragrance.

If your perfume was released between 2016-2023 check it's batch code. I would pursue batches made before 2023 for a stronger presence of aroma chemicals used in the formula.

If your perfume was released after 2023 There will be a more synthetic aroma to your perfume. This is because of the heavy reformulations that happened around this timeline. (See reformulation blog)
