About Us

Hello fragrance fam!

My name is John, and like you, I'm also an avid fan of fragrance. I come from a family of artists and as an artist myself, I've always had an appreciation of fragrance. In my early years of collecting, I would trade and sell bottles through third party websites like eBay and Mercari. This was a great learning experience in terms of figuring out the best methods for shipping and decanting.
The two catalysts that drove me to create Vintage Decants were:
 1. I noticed there was a lack of support in being able to sample vintage perfumery.
2. I noticed there was a huge lack of information and proof regarding the facts about reformulations.
I felt compelled to not only offer samples, but to also help people learn about batch variations. In early 2025 was when Vintage decants.com was born! We try to bridge the gap for both the serious collector and the novice buyer, while presenting a website that is as easy to use, as it is informational.
The scents we decant from, come from a lifetime of collecting. A majority of our inventory we use are from fragrances that are discontinued and out of production. Much of our stock was from an era before the use of barcodes even. It is noted that It is impossible to buy officially from the original brand in this case. We source from a network of collectors and third party sellers. Identifying the bottle based off of the extensive research that's done before making the full purchase. We base our authenticity from a combination of quality, appearance, batch information and box. At Vintage Decants were ecstatic to help reconnect you to all your favorite fragrances,  your bound to discover all kinds of new hidden gems along the way.
If you enjoyed your decant and your ready to search for a full bottle, see our "Vintage Blogs" section for help. Thank you for all your support and enjoy the Journey!
If you would like to further connect, add us on Fragrantica, or Basenotes!
PS. "Murphy" is the official vintage decants mascot. You may see him hidden throughout the site. His favorite type of fragrances are tobacco!
