Why is vintage perfume sometimes a dark color, does that mean it's spoiled?

Buying Guide:
If the color is pitch black, then perhaps yes.
Generally, vintage perfumes tend to be darker due to the use of raw materials they contained. Ingredients such as patchouli, myrrh, and oakmoss were organic which gave them real pigmentation.
In contrast, a synthetically processed material without any organic material will usually have less or no color at all.
