Identify and explain:

Hello fragrance fam! On today's episode of "identifying the vintage" were  covering Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue for Women EDT!

Released in 2001 Light Blue is known for having a lovely note of green apple amidst some citrus and floral notes.

In newer versions of this perfume, it's lost a lot of its strength due to the removal of some trace natural ingredients. Most notably the synthetic versions of the jasmine and musk are quite different in the modern formulas.

The original version, upon dry down I would clarify it almost has a slight chypre (green) like quality to it, with an additional calone (salty aquatic) note.

The very first batches were distributed from 2001-2003 by Euroitalia. However the batches afterwards that were produced by Prestige (both versions made in Italy) I would consider them similar to one another and worth looking into want try a slightly more classic smelling version, with better longevity of this scent.

You can also date the batch codes via a batch code website. Usually the older bottles the liquid will have a more yellowish hue, due to the presence of the natural ingredients that were used in the original formulas.

Hope this helps and enjoy the Journey!
