L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme EDT, ISSEY MIYAKE, Identifying the vintage batches

Vintage Decants

Identify and explain:

Hello fragrance fam!
On today's episode of "identifying the vintage", is Issey Miyakes first fragrance for men, L'eau D'ISSEY EDT!
D'ISSEY is a powerful yuzu focused calone centric aquatic fragrance. I would compare it to the original Acqua Di Gio for men EDT, but with a hefty dose of bitter yuzu fruit added.
Newer versions have lost a lot of the calone/melon note, and it almost smells floral now in my opinion...
-The vintage bottle (Pre 2001) will have four lines of text on the front of the bottle and was produced by B.P.I. fragrances.
-B.P.I. perfumes was a manufacturer that sourced excellent ingredients for the perfumes they produced in the 80's and 90's.They also produced Jean Paul Gaultier's first line of fragrances, that included the legendary "Le Male EDT"!.
-The Newer versions of D'ISSEY have three lines of text on the front of the bottle, with the words "eau de toilette" removed. They are also now produced by prestige perfumes.

My opinion is to at least pursue bottles made before 2016, via batch code, however the vintage version is a beast in terms of sillage!
Hope this helps and enjoy the Journey!
