Greetings!
My name is John, my experience with fragrances started back in the 90s when I was a teenager. I used to sneak sprays of Red for Men by Giorgio Beverly Hills from my grandfather. It’s an animalic leather scent that many would consider "macho" by today's standards, but times were different back then!
After a long break from wearing fragrances, I decided to dive back in. To my disappointment, I found that the scents I purchased barely lasted a couple of hours on my skin. I couldn’t help but wonder, didn’t these used to last all day? What had changed?
Curious, I decided to order a vintage fragrance online. I expected it to be expired and turned, but I figured it was worth a shot. To my suprise, the magic was still there—the scent was just as beautiful and long-lasting as I remembered! This experience opened up a whole new world of collecting that I found utterly fascinating. Through extensive research and plenty of trial and error, I learned how to read batch codes, recognize bottles, and identify vintage perfumes.
One of the biggest challenges I faced in collecting vintage fragrances was the inability to sample them before purchasing. This led me to create VintageDecants.com, a platform designed to help others experience the timeless masterpieces of the past! I hope you enjoy exploring the site, reading the descriptions, and try out brands you may not be familiar with. In my experience, most vintage scents are stronger and better quality than most modern offerings but that’s just my opnion. Cheers!
